A weekend with " Fairy Mini Album"

Hellloooo

Well this year my little girl turned the big 6. She was so exited at the fact that she now needed two hands to show how old she was and not just the five fingers on one hand. I love how children think lol..

Abigail has been planning and wanting her fairy party now for the last year or so  as this was going to be her very first party with her school friends. So for her this was a very big deal and for me too as I really wanted it to be everything she expected it to be.

So I definitely wanted to take the time to document this special party and the BoBunny Enchanted Garden Collection was just the perfect match!! It is full if gorgeous fairies, enchanted wood scenes and the cutest of cute little gnomes. The purple and warm green tones through out the collection also was a perfect match to the photos I had taken at Abigails party.

So go and grab a cuppa and take a peek through my album.. there is LOADS of photos..

I decided to add loads of flowers through out the album to represent little vines and wild flowers.. That is how I imagine it in my mind when I think of a fairy garden .

I used my Stanley knife to cut around the door as a little interactive element to peek into the album.

I then stitched down all of the stickers through out the album, just to add some extra security to their adhesiveness.

To create the sparkly leaves on the flowers I dabbled some of the new Bo Bunny Glitter Paste using my fingers over the edges. I LOVE this glitter paste and love how fast it dries also.. meant that I could work on my album a lot faster then usual .

I totally went over board with the vines and wild flowers on this page.. I know it is a little overkill.. but I am diggin it :)

A weekend with " Week 30 Project Life"

Hellooooo...

Yikes.. Ok I must confess I am in TOTAL freak out mode over here!!

I started Project Life at the start of last year.. Everything was going really well bewteen us.. I was keeping up, taking loads of photos and keeping notes, buying all the latest releases from all over the place.. and then BAM!!! My life fell apart personally...
My marriage took a turn for the worse that I never saw coming ( nor did I ever think it would) and then my Project Life took a complete stand still. For me personally I didn't want to scrapbook the here and now when I knew full well it was too raw and emotional for me to do so!! So instead I kept taking photos, making sure that somehow everyday I was trying to see the good in something around me. As anyone knows going through heartbreak, no matter what blessing you have in your life around you - all you can see at the time is sadness, hopelessness and grey colours.

That was a over a year ago !!! And I still struggle at times..

BUT having Project Life in my life really woke me up to the fact ( slowly mind you- that fog after my marriage was really thick and took me a long time to come through it ) that my life was going on around me weather I chose to take part in it or not.. And I mean REALLY take part in it!! Being present with my children and engaging with them.. Not just sitting there in a slump.. My children needed their mother back and deserved to have me ..

Project Life funnily enough gave that back to me.. Even though at the time it was painful to see my marriage unravel and even more so have the photographic evidence of that ..
But as mentioned before it has been just over a year since that happened and I am now going back and completing my 2013 PL album.

YIKES but I am totally running out of time as I would like to try and complete it before the year it  out. I just looked at my calendar and between you and me .. times a tickin..

So I am trying to figure out the best way to tackle this dilemma.. For now in my mind I am thinking I will create one spread a week from the 2013 album on top of my 2014 album .. So I am going to have to be super organised as I really do not want to go into 2015 with 2 years uncomplete.. I would have a breakdown at that ha ha .

Ok .. now back to my original post.. ha ha

I just wanted to share with you all one of those "catch up" spreads from 2013 that I created with the MAMBI Pocket Pages and some MAMBI chips..

A weekend with " Week 15 - Scrappy Canary Style"

Helloooooo...

Bernii here with you today to share with you another of my Project Life spreads, although this time I am actually using the August " Bohemian" main scrapbooking kit and a couple of the left overs from the August "Gypsy"  Pocket Life kit. I have pretty much now managed to kill both of those kits and I am so happy with all the scrappy goodness I managed to make. So let's take a look at what I created....

Week 15 Project Life layout by Bernii Miller using the Scrappy Canary August Bohemian kit.

I love the bold Pinkfresh Tangerine foil alphas that came in the kit! They are so different from anything else I have seen , and they match so perfectly with the bright colours in the kit. I also am totally crushing on the exclusive Wilna Furstenberg stamp sets that came in this kit. I really want to create a layout with just those stamps as the background I love them so much... ( I must add that to my to do list)

I also managed to use up more of the Pretty Little Studio gold foil arrow embellishments from the Pocket Life kit.

I love those little arrows so much!! I also created an insert for the this week as I could not bare to cull any of the photos.

A weekend with " BoBunny Misc Me layout"

Hellooooo ...

Welcome, welcome . welcome....

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you if you are here and reading my blog!! I so appreciate that you take time out of your busy day to take a peek into my world and little blog.. So thank you ...

Well today I wanted to share with you a Misc Me layout that I shared over on the BoBunny blog a week ago. My assignment for the week was to use the brand new awesome Sticky Stencils that they just release in their last Summer collections.. They are seriously the BOMB!!  The detail that I was able to get using wet mediums was perfection!! I get annoyed with other stencils when it bled no matter how careful I was !! So using these sticky stencils takes out that worry right away!

Abigail - Project Life / Misc Me layout by Bernii Miller using the BoBunny Sticky Stencils and Madeline Collection.

I decided to use up some older black and white photos that i printed off about my little girl Abigail to add this to her everyday album. These are all random photos from when she was only 3 . Sheesh time flies.

Abigail - Project Life / Misc Me layout by Bernii Miller using the BoBunny Sticky Stencils and Madeline Collection.

As you can see above in the bottom left corner the brilliant crisp image the BoBunny sticky stencils leaves behind when using wet mediums like the Glimmer Sprays. I added in some stamped elements like the birdcages and the butterflies, but stamped them first directly onto a transparency. This way I know for sure that the image will come out crisp and if not I can do another, and then I can move the image around the page until I am happy with its placement.

I also used the sticky stencils with my modeling paste to go back with some of the doily images over the darker sprayed areas. You can see above in the smaller pocket the fine detail again that I was able to create with the sticky stencil

I used the new Madeline collection to embellish the Misc Me spread as I found it really  complemented Glimmer Sprays I used.I just adore that collection!! it also swayed me a little more as my daughter middle name is Madeline..♥

Here are some close up details ....

I also played around with the new BoBunny Pearlescents with the Sticky Stencils and simply used my finger to blend and spread around the wet medium. I love how it turned out and again how crisp the image turned out.

A weekend with " Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers"

Helloooo

Well today I usually would have a "Workspace Wednesday" post, but have been thinking lately that I want to start posting a few more posts about me and my little family.

So today I wanted to share with you about the visit the kids and I took to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers -side show ally. The Carnival is an anual one that happened once a year and it

The very first ride that we went on was the teacup ride, I thought we would start out tame and work our way up from there!! but wosers.. those little buggers spin really fast.. I for one really do not like spinning rides so I was clearly disillusioned when I clapped eyes on this ride.

I then let the kids bounce around in the jumping castle while I tried to get my head together. ha ha .. I think I might be turning into a whimp..

Hunter had a blast on the truck ride too!! He really wants to be a truck driver like his father when he grows up so this ride totally rocked his socks!

Then of course we had to grab some fairyfloss!!! No visit to a carnival is complete without some yummy, sugarfied fairy floss.

Today we are actually off to explore some of the prize winning gardens around Toowoomba. I am really hoping that Hunter will keep his hands to himself and not rip out any flowers..He is certainly old enough to know better but it is that little boy gene that kicks into high gear every now and then and he becomes this tiny fire cracker...
So fingers crossed..

Till next time

A weekend with "Gratitue Layout"

Helloooo..

Well I have been busy again digging into my older stash and making efforts to use them up , especially my super HUGE project life card stash!! I am trying to find new ways to use up my cards beside the usual grid layouts that first come to mind.

So for this layout I wanted to originally create a banner under the photo going across the page, but when I started to cut out all the little banners from the MAMBI project life cards I got into a mad paper cutting frenzy and ended up with too many banners.. so I decided to instead to create a wreath with the al the MAMBI goodness.

I had to somehow also add in some watercolour and paint splatters...

I also wrote " counting my blessings" around the page , as a take off from the awesome Gratitude card that comes in the pack of project life cards.

I am really happy that I have managed to find another way to use up my MAMBI project life cards and next time I really will try and make a layout with the banner like I first intended.. ha ha

Thanks so much for stopping by

A weekend with "Creative Sketches #278 reveal"

Helloooo..

Well today it is another reveal day over on the Creative Sketches blog and this is my last DT layout for this term :)
I have LOVED creating with the awesome sketches and have managed to make a very small dent in my VERY large scrapbooking stash ha ha!!

Well for this layout I decided to actually use up the last pieces of my Gypsy  Pocket Life kit from Scrappy Canary as all the little pieces were just to pretty and bold to throw away!! So I decided to finally take the plunge and create a layout with a paper piecing feel . I am a quilter, stitcher and patchworker from way back so doing this layout felt great and really has me itching to get back in amongst my fabrics.

Rawwww Scrapbook layout by Bernii Miller using Basic Grey and Elles Studio

The sketch called for a grid layout - which I just love using so much!! And I knew from the get go I wanted to swap out the back block and create this colorful background.

I really love how it turned out and and can for sure that I will be using this technique again..

Rawwww Scrapbook layout by Bernii Miller using Basic Grey and Elles Studio

To soften the brightness and the bold patterns in the Basic Grey papers , I decided to create a wavy border to the top and bottom of the page with random off cuts from the kit.

Rawwww Scrapbook layout by Bernii Miller using Basic Grey and Elles Studio

I found that using the 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad so much better for the kind off work as it really does needs the smaller patterns to be more effect...In my opinion any way :)

P.S Isn't my little dinosaur the cutest ...

I do hope that you can come along and play with this new sketch ..

Here is the info..

This month My Creative Scrapbook is the sponsor and will be giving one lucky winner a kit from their gorgeous shop!! To win a prize all you need to do is participate in with either sketch reveal #277 or #278 and link it up over HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by..

A weekend with " Week 22 - BoBunny Style"

Helllooooo...

For some reason i thought I had shared this already , but looking back through my blog I missed it somehow... So here it is now!!

This is a Misc Me spread that I created for the BoBunny blog using their gorgeous Primrose collection. I used both the premade Misc Me cards and also the Primrose embellishments too boot.

Primrose Misc Me Project Life spread by Bernii Miller for BoBunny.

To create this layout I used the Primrose Misc me journal box set , which I just love and get so much use out of!! I love the fact also that there are lager 8 x9 cards in the pack also. So versatile.

I pulled out my glitter glue for these cards also and traced around a fair few of the elements to give it a little more.. sparkle.. cause you know you can never have enough **cough** **cough**

This is quite a girly collection ( as you might have spotted ha ha ) but I was still able to scrap the little men in my life in this week. I included a picture of my son showing off hi new Spiderman undies ( God love him) and then the new arrival of my nephew Nebraska.

I also slipped in a little hand made card from Abigail of some little flowers that she drew for me ♥♥
