A weekend with " It's begining to look a lot like Christmas"

Helloooo..

Well I am finally coming out the other end of the crazy bust month here in the Miller household, which means I can finally sit in front of the computer while watching Miniscule ( sheesh I love that show- do your self a favour and you tube it- seriously I get a giggle everytime) and catch up on loads of blog posts!!

I have managed to squeeze in some crafting time - which just makes me so happy!!

So today I just wanted to share with you a couple of cards that I made for Christmas. I want to make all handmade cards this year - my first time- and thought I better start early.. So I dug out my new BoBunny  "Candy Cane Lane" collection and my awesome new Couture Creations dies and got playing. Now I am new to the world of dies ( yes I am late.. I know) so have really enjoyed playing around and seeing what I can create. So let me show you my first card..

Wishing card by Bernii Miller using the BoBunny Candy Cane Lane collection and Couture Creations dies.

This card was based on the Couture Creations Metal Doily die ( Splendour die from the Treasures Collection" )  that actually also cuts out the insert. So to me I instantly thinks of wreaths and Christmas when I use it.

Now if you know me I have a litte thing for wreaths which you can see HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE . I never ever get tiered of them and thought I would create a mini wreath on this card for my garden loving Grandmother- in- law.. Is that what they are called :-/

Any who I used a very simple flower die , again from Couture Creations and simply pinched the petals so that they would stand up a little . I then went around each of the petals with the Glitzin' glamour that I also picked up from Couture Creations. I also used an embossing folder for the very first time to run the die cut leaves through it.. Sheesh I LOVE it!!

I finished of the card with a classic BoBunny metal brad and dragged out my typewriter to create the itty bitty banner.

I only used my 6 x6 BoBunny Candy Cane  Lane paper pad to create these cards, and that is another reason why I have fallen in love with dies!!
So easy to whip through my cuttle bug :)

For this next card I actually used the inside cut piece from the Doily Die in the first card as the basis to build another flower.

I am hoping that I will get to play some more with these dies to create more Christmas cards. Perhaps I will scraplift these cards and just create them a different paper collection..

Thanks so much for stopping and AGAIN thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment either here on my Instagram account.. I LOVE reading them so very much..

Till next time

A weekend with " Scrappy Canary - project life"

Hellooo ..

October is crazy busy around here hence the lack of blog posting going on here!! I assure you I have loads to share with you here, I just need to find more time to create the blog posts themselves.. So this is a really short and sweet post to share with you my Scrappy Canary project life spread using the PRETTY  Strawberry Fields Pocket Life kit !!

This kit was full of the new Shimelle collection so I was so happy to use as much of the 6 x 6 papers to create all the back ground cards. I also printed out two of the free monthly printables that came with the  kit ( emailed to you if you are a subscriber) and used these throughout the layout. I LOVE those printables as I get soooo much use out of them! You can see on my title card that I mainly used the printable to create it.

Here are some close up shots of both sides.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you are keeping up with your Project Life spreads.. Seems that this year is just going way to fast and I will be back soon to catch up with the rest of my blog posts :)

Till next time ..

Much Love

A weekend with " Breathtakingly Beautiful"

Helloooo..

I have been playing again :)

This time it was for BoBunny's facebook page!! I had a fun creating this layout and was totally in my creative element.. I had my podcast playing, lollies on hand with a cold drink and my son was letting me play, so it was total bliss!!

I just love this photo of Abigail that I snapped a few months ago at a gorgeous church in town ! We were waiting for a relative's baptism to start and as the kids were playing I grabbed my iphone and kept taking photos until I got the right one. I am finding asking my kids to say their names bring out the most relaxed and natural facial expressions.. Otherwise they just looked so pained trying to smile ..

This layout was made with the new "Madeline" Collection by BoBunny .. sigh.. the colours are just so pretty!!

I even managed to play with my new Marion Smith Designs Bloom impressions tool to help shape the larger flowers on my page. It was so easy ( even my 3 year old was helping me at one stage) and I love the effect that it created. I can see that this will be a go to tool for me for a long time! If you love flowers and using dies then I highly recommend you check out the Bloom Impressions Tool..

So here is a few more close up's of my layout :)

I used the new BoBunny gold Glitter Paste to add a little sparkle to the flowers !! I love that stuff and use it all over the place :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a fabulous day!!

Till next time

A weekend with " Creative Sketches V3 layout"

Hellloooo...

I wanted to share a layout with you all that I made for the brand new Creative Sketches

I was given a fun sketch to create with and in the end the layout started to take its own direction. That is code for.. it turned out a little left field from the sketch lol..

I have had this picture of my children with our Australian Red Cattle dog that I adore, and I knew that I wanted to use the BoBunny Happy Tails collection to complete it. I could not decide which papers to use so in the end I decided to dig into the entire 6x6 paper pad and used my circle punch to create the background.

I was surprised at how therapeutic it felt to punch and fold all those circles.

I love all the little cute embellishments that come in the Noteworthy packs in each of the collection..How cute is this doggy bone!! :)

A weekend with " 17 Turtles Guest Designer"

Helllooooo... ( echo echo) ha ha

Yes it is I Bernii ( and one else get that )

I have been so super busy here with life in general, being a mum, working part time and then coming home to be a "present" mother to my two children all while trying to have a respectable looking home.. soooo I had to just stop blogging for the week and just take care on the home front. It was good in turn though as the Spring weather has truly arrived and I was motivated to wash all my walls in the house and clean out some cupboards, so some true Spring Cleaning was done :)

Well I a little while ago I was asked my fellow BoBunny Design Team creative -Julianna, if I would like to be a Guest Designer for her blog using some of her newly created digital cut files. She did not have to ask me twice and I jumped at the chance!

If you have not seen Julianna's blog then please click over and check out right HERE. From there you can also get a direct link to her etsy shop where you can see so many cool and different designs!!

I of course was drawn to her floral designs and below you can see a sneak of the layout I created for her blog.. If you want to see the rest then please head on over to HERE and take a peek ...

Any who I have been making an effort to chip away at last years Project Life album and created this layout using the gorgeous Simple Stories - Vintage Bliss collection. I have been hoarding this collection and though about time I use it up. So I a created this spread and then will create some layouts while I have all the papers out on my desk.

So let me show you what I made :)

I am lucky enough to be apart of a Facebook group for Australian Project Lifers and it was in this group that a fabulous lady created the card birth announcement card for the new Prince.

A weekend with " MAMBI cards "

Hellloooo..

I just wanted share with you a couple of cards that I made using different MAMBI cards that I created with the pocket pages cards... They are versatile and love the little sentiments on the pocket cards that can so easily be used on gifting cards.

So these are three different cards that I made.. I even managed to create a mini banner using up some of the pocket page cards.

The Birthday Girl card using Me & My Big Ideas project Life cards.

For this card I dug out my dies and my cuttlebug and created a flower using up some the "Teenage" pocket pages collection.

This next card is very simple, and that is because I really wanted the "Totally Love" card to stand out and be the feature.. I simply added some slits to the side of the card and and wove through some white seam binding tape and tied a sweet little bow.

I love having a little collection of cards here on the ready to hand out to loved ones on special occasions.

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Till next time

A weekend with " Too the Moon and Back"

Helloooo...

You know I LOVE colour and I LOVE the way it can make a person feel.. I love how certain colours can evoke all different emotions and memories of certain times and places..Well this layout makes me smile and and happy everytime I see it!! With those splashes of yellow I just an't help it :)

So let's take a peek at what I made..

To the moon and back layout by Bernii Miller using MAMBI pocket pages.

I love the grid style layout and I never tire of this style. I love how using this style of layout I can use multiple bright colours with out it looking over crowded or out of place.

I used the MAMBI Pocket Page cards to complete this layout and some of the MAMBI chips that I also had here in my stash..

A weekend with " Fancy Pants Designs - Featured Artist"

Helllooo..

I have some fabulous news to share with you!!

I was very lucky enough to win the Fancy Pants Designs September Sketch challenge. This means that I have been featured in their latest FREE e-mag which you can find through there site HERE. It also means that I was their featured artists for the month and there is a little write up about myself.

If you wanted to check out my entry in more detail you can check out THIS blog post.

I even managed to quickly create another layout to feature in the newsletter using the " As you wish" collection. It was perfect for this not so stellar photo of my daughter and myself on her very first day of prep school induction. ( it was the only photo from the day and I REALLY wanted to scrap this moment)  The sentiments within the collection were perfect to reflect the start of her school life.

The flowers from the "Today"  paper in this collection was just calling my name to be fussy cut . I added some leaves that I die cut on my portrait. I bought these cut files HERE

Then to add some extra sparkle I went through with my glitter glue and went over the flower centres and some of the petals.

I do not normally do dark coloured back grounds as I do prefer the white, but I am really pleased I tried something different this time around, I love it.

Well I do hope that you head  on over to the Fancy Pants Designs blog and sign up for their free e-mag as every month it is full of inspiring layouts and scrappy related goodness...

A weekend with " I have a flower crush going on "

Hellloooo...

Well I am still on school holidays here with the children for the Spring and I tell you know the weather has been completely magical! The flowers are in full bloom here in Toowoomba and totally inspiring me to create and craft with flowers.. So I did :)

I have always loved flowers on layouts, although I do prefer more brighter variety. Sometimes they are hard to find, so I find making my own now a little easier to get the colours that I am chasing. Plus I love the process of playing with paper ..

So I with all the gorgeous gardens around I was super inspired to recreate my own layout with lots and lots of flowers..

Here is a sippet of just one of the garden beds you can find around town to celebrate the Carnival Of Flowers..  It is truly spectacular and just so darn pretty everywhere you look.. It is these Ranunculus too that have become my favorite flowers and I decided based on this picture to make my own layout..

So I took the inspiration  from the colour, but mainly from the layer upon layer and the fluffiness of the flower itself.. So so pretty.

So I dusted of my cuttlebug and pulled out some of the baby girl MAMBI pocket pages cards and got to work on creating some flowers. I used the Pocket Pages cards as it had the most variety of the patterns and colours within the same range. So all the hard work of coordinating was already done for me .

I had so much fun creating a variety of shapes and sizes of flowers. I even managed to drag out some older brads and use them up finally.. Gotta love when that happens!!

I added a soft wash of pale pink watercolor to the background to just a little more " girly ness" to the layout..

I LOVE how this layout turned out and will certainly be creating more flowers for layouts and cards.. I am now under the influence and can not be blamed for what may come :-/

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope the season is beautiful in your part of the world also..

Till net time

Much love
