A weekend with ' Family Captured"

Helloooo...

Well a few weeks ago the kids and I took part in a photo shot with the talented friend of mine from Lucia Photography. I have had Prue take photos of previously so I knew I wanted her to capture more special moments for the kids and I.

I must say I had the biggest smile and tears welling up as I first flipped through the photos as they are just beyond amazing to me. So i thought I would share some of my favourites from the photo shoot with you here and I know you will see more popping up in my scrapbooking pages.

All of these photos were just taken around my town of Toowoomba - queensland .

I am beyond happy with the moments and photos that Prue captured of the children and I . They will for sure be so precious to me for a long time coming. Prue managed to somehow capture our personalities on film and I just am so grateful for that.

Thanks so much for stopping by today..

Till next time
Much love

A weekend with " Catch Ya Later Mate"

Hellooooo.

Well I have BoBunny layout share with you today using super AWESOME Carnival collection. I have been holding off on using this collection a little as I was searching for the perfect photos to use.

Well it turns out that I  had a photoshoot a couple of weeks ago and this particular photo for my son was totally perfect for the rich bold colors found in this collection.

I had a blast pulling out my modelling paste and using the new release " Cascade Stickable Stencils' that have these perfect little stars that just go so well with any layout. I have been using this stencil on what seems like all my layouts lately. So awesome!!

I do miss playing around like this with mixed media and sometimes wonder why I do not do it more often. But then I realise I need more hours in the day lol.

A weekend with " BoBunny - alpha stickers tutorial"

Hellooo..

Well a little while back over on the BoBunny Blog I shared a little tutorial that I learnt along the way to help place those tiny tiny alphs stickers in the right place each and every time.

So here goes ...

I just love using my Misc Me 8 x 9 albums especially when I have a handful of photos that are just to much to put into a single or double layout, but I find it hard to only select a few photos. This was the case with these special photos of my daughter graduating Kindergarten a few years ago. When I first saw the pretty shine from the new Kraft and Gold 8x9 album I knew it would be perfect to house the precious memories from that day,

I teamed my photos with another new release from BoBunny - the Sweet Life Journaling Cards in the new 4x4 and 2x2 format and the super exciting new alphabet sticker sheets from the Double Dot range.

These new alphas are just perfect to use on any project, but it is especially a perfect size to use in the Misc Me pocket squares. So today I wanted to share with you all a mini tutorial on how to perfectly line up your alphas every time on any project that you use! I promise.

\
So let's take a look at my process :

To start off with you will need a ruler . If you like to be precise with measuring from the edges of your photos, I would suggest that you use a ruler with a cm measurement like the one pictured below.

Then start to create the word or title that you want with the Alphabet stickers. If you would like you could also use the ruler measurements to make sure that each letter is perfectly spaced. When you place the alphas onto the ruler only attach the bottom half of the ruler - as you will need the top half to adhere it into the desired place.

Once you have all of the alphas that you would like to use, then using the ruler and the measurements line up the ruler to te exact place you want the stivker. Placing the alhpas onto the ruler is great, as you can look at what your alphas might look like in diferent parts of your layout or mini - before you adhere it down.

Then once you are happy with where you would like your your BoBunny alphabet stickers to go, simply lay the ruler down flat, adhere the top half of the stickers, and while holding down the top half, slowly twist out the ruler from underneath so that it comes away from the ruler.

Once you have removed the ruler simply pat down the bottom half of the alphabet stickers.

Then if you would like to add a little interest and some more adherence to your photos you could also run the stickers through the sewing machine.

So as you can see in just a few easy steps  you can get the perfect placement of your BoBunny Alphabet Stickers each and every time , with out the heartache of having to try and peel of stickers to reposition them . Here is another example from my album that shows how I used the same technique.

Well I hope this tutorial gave you an idea on how next time you might tackle in adhering your alphabet stickers to your project.

Thanks so much for stopping by ..

Till next time

Much love

A weekend with " Abby - Mini Album"

Helloooo...

Well it has been a little while between posts- but I assure I have been still here plodding along!!!  I just decided I needed to step away from the blog and most things social media for a while, to recharge the batteries. It has been the Easter school holidays here, so for me being back teaching full time was a huge adjustment after being on maternity leave for 7 years. So I was exhausted!! Working all day, then looking after the children with all the home duties alone, and then also trying to maintain my 20 acre property. So it has been an adjustment lol.. I LOVE it and would not have it any other way as I am so grateful that I have a wonderful job, two healthy and happy children and I have a home that is mine - that I work hard on solely to pay week in and week out.. Life is great !!

But enough about my absence..

I wanted to jump right in and share my first Design Team post for the Couture Creations Design Team.

I was asked towards the end of last year by the lovely team over at Couture Creations if I wouldn't mind creating some projects for them to take over to CHA with their new Kalini Collection. I jumped at the chance!! I  was totally inspired by Maggie Holmes album that she created in an old hardcover book. The Vintage Rose Paper Collection was just perfect teamed with this idea.

I decided to create  a whole album using the entire release from this collection and I managed to use almost every single die from this release.

So let me show you how I created this little album that hold's precious little memories of my little girl Abigail. This post is photo heavy so grab a coffee and start your day off with some Couture Creations inspiration.

Disclaimer ** At the time that I made this album I used my own personal paper doilies , but the new Frames & Frills collection would be perfect to create your own doilies for this project.

I created a window pocket on the inside of the album, and added in confetti pieces flower dies to add a little interest.

These cog pieces were perfect to show off my little girl being  "daddy's little helper" . To make them a little more feminine I simply sprayed over the die cuts with a little gold glimmer spray.

This next page would have to be my favourite from the album. I just adore these new flower dies from the Kalini collection and they teamed so well with watercolour background that I created here.

This is another of my favourites using the same dies from above but this time using different papers from the paper pad.

To create some height to the cute little owl, I created two cuts and then layered one above the other using foam dots to lift the top layer.

I am so happy with how the album turned out and so happy that I was able to use fabulous dies from one collection to create a full album of memories.
