A weekend with " Layout Catchups"

Well hello there...

Seems that Christmas well and truly consumed all areas of my life and I am just coming out the other side of it now :) ha ha ..

I had a wonderful festive season and even managed a trip to the Gold Coast to catch up with a friend that I have not seen for a very long 4 years.. I am sure I also ate my way through a small countries worth of food also, as most of us seem to do at this time of the year!

Well on Christmas eve , one of my BoBunny Christmas layouts were featured on the blog HERE . I used the Gold & Silver collection to scrap this adorable picture of my daughter Abigail who was obsessed at the time with lining items up all the time. This one particular day I came down stairs and notices that Abigail was VERY busy lining up the presents under the tree!! It makes me giggle every time I see this picture , so of course I had to scrapbook it.

I thought I would share with you first a little of my step by step of how I ended up with final layout...

I always love stitching my pages together, on top of the adhesive that I use.

I find that sewing the burlap directly onto the paper works the best for me. It is so easy to do with a sewing machine, but if not you could always use a few hand stitches to hold into place.

I found some of this tape measure ribbon in my sewing stash and I though it would make a great accent to tie in the burlap and the flowers. The easiest way that I held it together was simply a staple. And then I stapled it directly to the page.

This is when the paper pushing starts..ha ha .. Originally I was going to use two photos, but then that would mean I would not have a place to journal, and I am a scrapper that loves to journal on the page . So I decided to get rid of the tree and use a journalling card instead.

Then this was the completed layout that I had completed, but I really felt that since taking away the Christmas Tree picture it was lacking " something" and there seemed to be an area of not much happening. So I added in a BoBunny Doily and love how it effortlessly filled in the area.

In the end this was the final layout below.

I clustered lots of BoBunny flowers with the BoBunny Burlap underneath to add some dimension and  cohesiveness to both sides of the layout.

As you can see the page is very lumpy and bumpy which I love.. I just adore a page with texture of any kind..

Well thank you so much for taking a look and I hope that you had a safe and festive Christmas with loved ones.

Till next time

Much love

A weekend with " SCRAPBOOKING MEMORIES MASTER 2014'

Helllooooo...

Well I am FINALLY able to share with you the awesome news that is that I have been selected with 9 other super talented ladies to be a Scrapbooking Memories Master for 2014 ... Yup  I too am still in shock ha ha ..

My entry was very last minute. As in, I have always wanted to apply , but never did as I never had the confidence. And then when I was narrowed down to the last 20 for the JOT magazine Design Team, that was enough to give me the boost to try out as there was some scrapbooking heavy weights that I was always in awe of.

So it was over the weekend that I got my supplies together and created to my hearts content.. It was then on that Monday that it HAD to be posted out! Nothing like working under pressure. So to say I was gob-smacked that I received a call for my first go , absolutely blew me away!! This is a 10 year dream come true!

Here is a peek at my entry. You will have to wait to get the Masters copy of the Magazine to have a look at all the works from all the masters and all the amazing honourable mentions too!

A weekend with " Trim the Tree" BoBunnt DT layout.

Hellloooo there :)

Have I ever told you that I work for the most AWESOME Scrapbooking manufacturer around :) Well I do and I LOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE the gorgeous collections that I get to play with as much as I like. The best thing that I love about BoBunny  is that they are still a family run and orientated company that has stood the test of time and always been at the forefront of scrapbooking trends! Their ranges are always versatile and appeal to so many scrappers.

Any who I am not here to gush all about them ( although I could go on forever) , in fact I just wanted to share a Christmas layout I made using the Gold & Silver collection that was just published in the latest Scrapbooking Memories mag . This was for the Bostik glue challange where everything had to be glued down using just the glue stick.. Here is my layout ....

I added in some sewing to also help adhere the papers.

BoBunny always have fabulous embellishments to match each of their collections so layering an clustering was so easy to do .

Lately too I find that I love to journal directly onto the paper and ALWAYS underline.. Not sure why , but I love the look!!

Thanks for talking the time to look.

Till next time.

Much Love

A weekend with " Flutterby Designs" layout

hellloooooo......

A while back I was approached by the lovely Anita, to see if I would like to guest design with some of her gorgeous new products, of course I JUMPED at the chance to do so ...

I have worked with Flutterby Designs products before and love them.. Anita has a HUGE range of flairs, photo cut outs and fussy cut digital files. Even though I have recently purchased a Portrait , I still seem to be diving back into my stash of Anita's goodies as it just saves me so much time.. If you want to take a peek at her shop just follow THIS LINK.

So for this layout I used bits and pieces from her store, including flair, photo cuts out and fussy cut files :) I actually heat embossed the fussy cut file with some American Crafts embossing powder and I love the effect of the gold frame.

I am totally obsessed with gold at the moment so I even added gold glitter to the centre of all the flowers .

I love the 6 x 4 photo cuts that Anita makes as it means I am not losing pieces all over the place and forgetting what I have . Below I just layered all the different cut outs.

Thanks so much for being here..

Till next time

Much Love

A weekend with "Polly December Daily" album cover

Well hello there..

Well this year I am taking the leap and doing my very first December Daily, although I am taking my own twist on things and making my album one that will include all things Christmas. So all the Christmas work parties, baking, decorating, kids craft and all the empherma that tends to accumulate over the silly season.

I am so very lucky this year to be playing along with the Polly! Scrap Kits December Daily Kit . Ruth has put together a kit packed to the brim with exclusive goodies not available any where else, and so many gorgeous matching papers and embellishments!! There is still a few kits left if you would like to play along.. it really isn't to late..

Along with the kit, I have just used bits and pieces that I have around, but have not had to use much as the kit really as so many choices!!

So today I wanted to share with you the cover to my album. I am using the Sn@p , red bound album that I bought from the Polly! store.
I decided to use the Heidi Swapp music paper ( found in the kit) as the main background paper and worked my way up from the there. With lots of layering and glitter thrown in for good measure. The flowers were fussy cut and then I simply added some WOW! gold glitter to the centres.

Then for the HELLO word I used a cut file I purchased from Kerri Bradford studio, then once the lettering was cut I embossed the shape with some American Crafts gold embossing powder. I just LOVE how it turned out and you will see more gold embossed goodies through out my album.

I then had laying around in my scrap pile some American Crafts glitter card stock. So I  used the off cuts with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and adhered it with a touch of Glossy Accents just down the spine of the butterfly.

How darn cute as these little bells that are found in the kit ????

I have attached all of the bells from the kit to the front of the album , so it jingles every time you pick it up and turn a page. I love it and it feels so festive.

Lastly I adhered this little butterfly and a Elle's studio tag just on the inside of the album cover.

Thanks so much for dropping by and checking out the start of my album, and I an not wait to share more with you ...

Till next time

Much Love

A weekend with " Sew Cute Misc Me album"

Hi there ,

I wanted to share with you a new little mini album I have started to make for the BoBunny design team.
When I first saw all the new Pincushion collection, my heart skipped a beat and I fell in love instantly!! I LOVE anything hand-made and anything that represent this.. I have been holding onto some pictures that I have taken of the clothing I made for my hand-made business Shnuckylove and have just had them sitting in a pile collection dust!!

So when then BoBunny assignment came up I knew exactly what to create with this new collection and that the photos I had sitting collecting dust would be perfect in a Misc Me album to show off what I have made.

This album will be a work in progress as I ad more pictures and fabric samples of the new clothing that I will make along the way..

Let me show you some of the album so far....

I created the album cover using the Pincushion 12 x 12 papers then just adding some small pieces from the chipboard pack. I tend not to add too much detail and embellishments on the front of albums as I know from how much children handle the albums they would likely be pulled off..

I then used a sticker from the card stock stickers to create the label for the spine.

I also decided to use the card stock pages that are included in the Pincushion Misc Me Journal packs. Each page is different and most them have gorgeous decorate edges that I really wanted to show off!

To add some interest and interactive elements through out the album I have added in some tags and paper spines into the album.

Lots of cut out butterflies and Seam Binding ribbon have been added.

I have also decided to add elements from my haberdashery stash , and realise that the album will become very thick and chunky and I LOVE that!! With this page I added a little bow, that I had sewn onto my Bambi ruffle sets,.. Here is a close up....

So I have loads more pages that I have added into the album, with oodles of photos!! I love that the BoBunny Misc Me plastic sleeves are in a few different combinations so that I have the chance to fit in as many photos as possible.

I am hoping over the Christmas break, that I will be able to play some more with this album, so I will be back here to share some more photos with you all..

Till next time

Much Love

A weekend with " Week 20 Project Life "

Well hello there...

Well we are now in the last month of the year and I am so incredibly far behind in my PL.. but it is OK.. ha ha .. I know I will catch up and I am hoping that I can get onto this very soon..

Sometimes life takes a turn that no one sees and sometimes it can take months to get through it,like in my case it did, but I am out of that storm on the other end and luckily for me I kept taking photos and making notes etc so catch up with PL should be easy enough..

So on that note here is my PL spread for week 20 using the gorgeous October kit from the Polly! Scrap Kits club... I LOVE this kits and love how they pull together so easily..

I managed this week again to create a layout with an extra insert ( I am always very photo heavy and can not bring myself to cull anything) .

Here is a closer look at both sides of my insert.

A close up of the left hand-side using the gorgeous letter press card that I just journalled directly onto. I also used a full 6x4 photo in the bottom left hand side and just added some journal spots directly onto the picture as I did not have the heart to cull the picture.

Till next time
