A weekend with " Layout Catchups"

Well hello there...

Seems that Christmas well and truly consumed all areas of my life and I am just coming out the other side of it now :) ha ha ..

I had a wonderful festive season and even managed a trip to the Gold Coast to catch up with a friend that I have not seen for a very long 4 years.. I am sure I also ate my way through a small countries worth of food also, as most of us seem to do at this time of the year!

Well on Christmas eve , one of my BoBunny Christmas layouts were featured on the blog HERE . I used the Gold & Silver collection to scrap this adorable picture of my daughter Abigail who was obsessed at the time with lining items up all the time. This one particular day I came down stairs and notices that Abigail was VERY busy lining up the presents under the tree!! It makes me giggle every time I see this picture , so of course I had to scrapbook it.

I thought I would share with you first a little of my step by step of how I ended up with final layout...

I always love stitching my pages together, on top of the adhesive that I use.

I find that sewing the burlap directly onto the paper works the best for me. It is so easy to do with a sewing machine, but if not you could always use a few hand stitches to hold into place.

I found some of this tape measure ribbon in my sewing stash and I though it would make a great accent to tie in the burlap and the flowers. The easiest way that I held it together was simply a staple. And then I stapled it directly to the page.

This is when the paper pushing starts..ha ha .. Originally I was going to use two photos, but then that would mean I would not have a place to journal, and I am a scrapper that loves to journal on the page . So I decided to get rid of the tree and use a journalling card instead.

Then this was the completed layout that I had completed, but I really felt that since taking away the Christmas Tree picture it was lacking " something" and there seemed to be an area of not much happening. So I added in a BoBunny Doily and love how it effortlessly filled in the area.

In the end this was the final layout below.

I clustered lots of BoBunny flowers with the BoBunny Burlap underneath to add some dimension and  cohesiveness to both sides of the layout.

As you can see the page is very lumpy and bumpy which I love.. I just adore a page with texture of any kind..

Well thank you so much for taking a look and I hope that you had a safe and festive Christmas with loved ones.

Till next time

Much love
Bernii xx

  1. Lovely layout. Love the way you've used the burlap and the tape measure. Thanks for sharing.
