A weekend with " slowly getting back into my sewing room"

Good Morning!!

Well yesterday I was pottering in my sewing/ scrapbooking room and came across Shnuckylove stock that I had around. I decided to stop my hand-made business to concentrate more on my family and scrapbooking.

When you own your own business, especially one that is solely based on hand-made goods, it consumes so much of your time and energy and takes away form everything else in your household. If you have a hand-made business you know EXACTLY what I mean ha ha.

Do not get me wrong I LOVED what I did, but in the end I became so flooded with orders it became a chore and my love of sewing was killed...

So it was really nice to be back in my room looking at my fabrics and finding all the "pretty" treasures I have in there..  It is making me want to get back behind my machine, but this time to do more things for me.

I really want to make a start on all the pinterest goodies I have pinned, all the patchwork and quilt kits I have tucked away. I think it is time to dust them off and to start crafting again for the pleasure.. I also have a ton of patchwork and craft books that I have purchased with the intention of making something from them, so this year is the year.

I mostly miss sitting down in my arm chair and just stitching to relax.

Then who knows maybe one day  I will reopen Shnuckylove , but until then I need to tackle the growing number of kits and "pins" that a growing by the day..

Till next time

A weekend with " Washi tape , double page Masters Challange Spread"

Wowsers.... what a mouthful that title was lol..

Helllooooo....

Well today I thought I would share by double layout that I created for my Scrapbooking Memories Masters Magazine application... As the long winded title suggests the criteria for this layout, was to create a double page spread, although the layout had to be about some type of adventure. Wether that was in a physical form or spiritual - it was totally up to interpretation..

At first I was going to create a layout about my journey over the last 7 years, from being single to now a mother of two children and a wife. As I was looking for photos to represent this journey I actually came across these photos from a very random road trip our little family took. We had an awesome day and for once I was in front of the camera with the children and hubby taking the photos. So instantly I changed my mind and decided to use these photos...

Sorry the end of the layout is cut off :-/ must work on photographing that better

I decided to also try and use up some of the growing mountain of washi tape I have around the traps , and I absoloutly love all this chevron, so I decided to make a colourful washi taped chevron pattern for the back ground..

I found the perfect thickers to use , but they were so old they lost all their stickiness form the back, so I simply ran the sewing machine over them .

I love that I was able to pull out some older items like the butterfly transparency, and the gorgeous Jillibean "happy and family " sticker...

Thanks so much for taking a peek and I love to read your comments and encouragement..

Till next time

A weekend with " 3 cutesy cards"

Helloooo

Well usually I am not really a card kinda gal , but lately I have been trying to hand at it and actually loving what I have come up with.. I am by no means and over the top kinda girl so my cards will never be jammed packed with " frou frou" ..I do however like to use up as may scrap pieces as I can:)

This card I made using a Becky Higgins Project life card  and some watercolour that I had out on my desk. .. I then wanted to add some silver to the card ,so I altered a chipboard star with some silver glitter. I then used my hear embossing tool to make it blister and add some texture.

Then lastly with this card I just used the washi tape that  I had literally lying on my desk with a gorgeous Greatest Flair doily and flair .. This was so fast to make and I love how I can finally start to use some of my growing washi collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by

A weekend with " BoBunny LOVE LOVE LOVE layout "

Helooooo..

Well hope you are having a crafty weekend so far or at least finding a spare few minutes to fit some in :)

Well this weekend over on BoBunny blog we are showcasing layouts that incorporate the latests trends in scrapbooking right now.. I was so excited with this assignment and had the perfect picture in mind to use..
I took this gorgeous photo of my daughter with her two cousin's on Christmas Day and it was one of those random photos that you could never plan in a million years.. So I treasure it dearly.

Any way the picture to me was just crying out to be scrapped with a watercolour colour background and some golden accents.. You can find more close ups of the layout over HERE

I mainly used the Winter Wonder Land collection but backed the layout with the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle paper which I just adore. It has the sweetest sentiments on the print and was just perfect for this picture...

Alrighty,  thanks for stopping by and checking out my work, I really appreciate all your comments.

Till next time

A weekend with " Adore Masters layout "

Helloooo again,

Well I am back to share with you another ( and my favourite) layout that I created for my Scrapbooking Memories Magazine application...

I have had this idea for a  "Rainbow" for a really long time and originally I was thinking of perhaps creating the layout with a ton of flowers layered on there. In the end , and at the last minute I scraped that idea and went the water colour way. I felt that this represents my style more and I am so glad I went this way instead..

I managed to use up a lot of my older bits and bobs that I had lying around, while still mixing it in with the newer goodies like the resin flowers and the Heidi Swapp disco heart.

It really was fun pulling this layout together and I am keen to try something similar ,but just not to sure what just yet. The bright colours and watercolour have me hook , line and sinker.

Thanks  so much for looking and I will be back again soon to share more of my application..

Till next time

A weekend with " Masters" layout

Helllooooo..

Well today I though I would share one of my layouts that I created for the Scrapbooking Memories Magazine , Masters Challange. . This first layout's criteria was to create a layout with an interesting background..

I must admit when I created this layout all I knew was that I really wanted to use the sunburst mask and velum.. from those two ideas the page grew..

Of course I had to add some watercolour ( which I am having so much fun with lately)  and decided to add some pop of colour with the textured yellow shimmer paint..

I totally love this layout and even more so for the fact that this is a picture of my father and son.. two very important people in my life..

Till next time

A weekend with "BoBunny mix it up"

Hellooooo..

This week over on the BoBunny blog we were asked to mix up a few different collections and create a mash up of sorts ...

I have had this idea in my head lately to create a soft, feminine and pretty floral wreath after seeing the huge fashion trend at the moment of floral head garlands. So when we were asked to create a mix and match card I knew right away I was going to try out my idea. I used the Head Over Heels pink paper as the base of my card and then layered the gorgeous musical sheet paper from the Winter Woodland collection over the top.

Then digging into my trusty BoBunny flower stash, I just layered and layered until I was happy with the layout.

As you can imagine the card is quite bulk and heavy so I added some seam binding tape and twine to make a little tie closure on the side and to add a fun interactive element.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Papers: Head Over Heels/Date Night. Woodland Winter/ CoZy
Chipboard: Head over Heels.
Doily: Medium.
Blossoms: Blush Bouquet / Blush Pansy / Blush Daisy.

Then for my second mix and match I created a bold and bright card using three different collections. The gorgeous chevron print that I used as a base of my card is from the Elf Magic collection. I then layered the bright orange and lime green paper from the Fight delight collection. Then to finish it all off I added the sweetest of sweet hearts from the Head Over Heels collection .

Of course some extra little finishing touched like the twine, doily and the gems helps to unify and tie in the different collections as one cohesive card.

This card I made for my husband for this coming Valentine's day. It is masculine enough and the cute heart is a sweet little reminder that I love and cherish him. Perhaps you could try and create a card for your loved one this Valentines day using these same collections .

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Fright Delight/ Dingbat. Elf magic /Chevron / Fa la la la la.
Jewels: Fright Delight.
Chipboard: Head Over Heels.

A weekend with " You" layout

Hellooooo..

Just wanted to share a layout I created last week using up the last of my November Polly! Scrap kits main kit.. I managed to make this kit go a long way and I love setting my self the challenge  of using only the kit contents...

I fussy cut the flowers from the Maggie Holmes paper, and created the cute triangle accents by hand cutting them.. I am thinking now I might go back and stitch them down for some more interest.. I also "glittered" up the tiny studio calico wooden stars as I want to add some sparkle.

Thanks so much for dropping by..

Till next time

A weekend with " Polly! Rainbow Paddlepop" Project life ..

Hellloooo..

Well welcome to another Sunday.. It is Bernii here sharing some "Rainbow Paddlepop" goodness that I have shared this morning over on the Polly! blog.. There seems to be a few left in the store and you can just follow the link above :)

So this kit is jam packed with bright colours from the gorgeous 'Mayberry" Collection that Ruth was able to exclusively nab for the Polly! kits ..Ruth worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get this range just for you and I am so glad she did as this collection is gorgeous....

This week again I have been photo heavy and I must admit I hesitated to use so much colour.. But in the end once I started I could not stop.. I look at the whole page now and I am so in love with h it all came together..

To help the thickers stand out in some of the pages, I masked the back ground with some washi tape... Then for the "sick" card I simple used the scraps to create some mini banners.

I also managed to make a card with some of the left overs from the Rainbow Paddlepop kit, by simply layering all the goodies on top of each other. This card I think will be for my daughter with a little love note inside for her as she is my "Sunshine"..

Well I hope you have enjoyed my take on using the kit and I hope you are finding some time to scrap this weekend. I am hoping to again catch up on some more of last years Project Life album..

Till next time
Much love
