A weekend with " BoBunny" Design Team share

Hellloooo and what a stunning Saturday it is here in Toowoomba :)

It is so hard to believe that today is the last day of winter and as I sit here typing this I am sitting in a singlet and short set as it is so terribly hot!! Makes me cringe at the thought at how hot Summer will be this year..

Anyway I have just been sorting out my Project Life photos in Picassa and came across the layouts I applied with for the the BoBunny DT call.. I have blogged about the first layout that you can check out   HERE .

So this time around I will be sharing with you the last 3 layouts for my application. I hope you like them :)

The first layout using the "Ready Set Go " collection.. One of my favourites by far!

I then created a more simple layout of my daughter and me using the "Ambrosia" collection..

I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the butterflies and sprinkles rhinestones in between to add some sparkle.

Then lastly I created a Project Life Spread using the "Allora" collection.. If you have been following my blog then you would know that I love using collections to complete my spreads and this was no different.. So much fun..

The best part that I love about Project Life is that I get to use all the pictures that I snap away on my camera, and it does not matter if the focus is right or not..

Thanks so stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Much Love

A weekend with " Life Paper Scrapbook" project life monthly challenge.

Well hello there...

This month over on the Life Paper Scrapbook site the Project Life team has taken on the Challenge of creating "layers" in our spreads..

I loved this challenge and found it right up my alley as I find my self layering more and more with paper to help create lots of colour through out my album..

So for this weeks challenge I decided to use a Project life inspired Heidi Swapp kit from the lovely Michelle over at The Stamp Spot and you can find the exact kit right HERE

This was sooo much fun to work with and it all came together so fast, as everything in the kit was so well put together.

So along with this awesome challenge we were set as a team , it is now your chance to play along and show us how you layer in your Project Life spreads.

Manda from Life Paper Scrapbook has organised an  amazing sponsor for the Project Life Challenges, we are extremely delighted to be able to announce that we are partnering with Gossamer Blue for these challenges. The first prize they are offering is one of their phenomenal Life Pages kits! You will really want to win this one, it looks so yummy. Check it out below!

Now I know you all want to find out what to do to win this amazing prize?
Here are the details:
- You can submit ANY kind of project that you can use the project life challenge for: layouts, cards, PL, off the page projects. Keep in mind that this is a Project Life challenge and your project should be relevant to your PL system, whatever that may be.

- You can combine the Project Life challenge with the other LPS challenges just make sure you link it up to each so you have a chance to win in both.
- August Project Life Challenge runs until 11.55pm 19 September. (Don't forget we are in Australia)
- The winner of the prize will be randomly drawn
- We will also feature three of the favourite layouts and the selected layouts will be asked to guest design for the next Project Life challenge.

You have to be in it to win it, so link up your project up on the right. Please make sure you link to the correct challenge, there are three challenges; project life, sketch and colour challenge to link up to. If you are linking to a blog, please link to the actual post the layout is featured in, not just the general address and make sure you link back to Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Most importantly have fun! We can't wait to see what you all come up with.

A weekend with " Shnuckylove Ruffles"

Well I have been busy this week in the rufflin' department..

I have dusted of my sewing machines and sifted through all my gorgeous floral fabrics and decided to take my hand-made business Shnuckylove out of its winter break.. The weather here has been unseasonably warmer than usual , so the spring flowers have been out blooming a little earlier. This has made me inspired and really keen to get back into my sewing room ..

So I have been working on a new collection which I have named "Sweet Arabella" which will be full of soft pastel florals and the odd Bell & Boo ruffle..

Here is a little peek at what is to come

This release will be coming soon , so watch my facebook page for more updates..

A weekend with " Zip-A-Dee-Doodle" layouts .. having lots of fun!!

Helllooooo out there :)

Hope you have been keeping well and finding time to scrap top your heart's content..

Well today I am here to share with you the brand new Zip-A-Dee-Doodle collection from BoBunny and my interpretation. At first you might look at this collection and find it a little hard to see past the black, white and green colour scheme BUT I want to show you just how versatile and FUN this collection really can be and it is only limited my your imagination.

So today I will show you two layouts that I have made .. very similar back grounds, photo layout, cardstock, and similar placement although both are different in the colour scheme..So essentially one girl and boy version. So I hope after you see this that you do go out and find some Zip-A-Dee-Doodle to play with and share over at the BoBunny Facebook page as we LOVE to see what you are making..

This is really photo heavy so you may want to grab a cuppa and get cosy :)

Firstly this is the main paper that I used for both of my layouts called  " Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Crackle"

So let's start with the first layout..

I LOVE getting out masks and mediums to play with and for this layout I was itching to play with my " The Crafter's Workshop" template. I painted on randomly some gesso and then sprayed on on some Mister Huey's mist while the gesso was still wet.. This allowed some parts to blend together a little , which I really like the look of.

I then layered around the new Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Stamps to help create an extra " interest" element to the back ground.. the text on the stamp was just perfect and fitting for this layout.

Then to help ground the layout more I decided to sew around a circle into the back ground using my trusty old sewing machine.. I LOVE doing this to layouts as it secretly holds a layout together , and helps your eye to look around the layout. To highlight it more I added some Zip-A-Dee-Doodle jewels and added the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle arrow stamp..

And finally the finished product.. I just LOVE this layout and love that I was able to create a more masculine layout for the special men in my life.

Now onto my other Zip-A-Dee-Doodle layout.. get out some sunglasses cause this one is bright!! ha ha

Now the colours around this layout where chosen based on the gorgeous yellow Doubledot cardstock from the "Soft Shade" pack. I find this card stock perfect for using wet mediums on , as the card stock does not buckle like many others do..

So to start with I flipped over the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Crackle paper , which on one side is coloured yet on the other is doodling of the same image and really open to interpretation.. So I grabbed out my water colours (  a huge favourite of mine at the moment ) and started to paint in the little flower details..

Then I just fussy cut out the flowers I wanted and stacked them on top of each other to help create height and dimension using foam dots... I then traced around the flowers with some glitter glue to add some sparkle to each flower.

This time for this layout I used another " The Crafter's Workshop" template although this time I used the modelling paste to help create the textured back ground, and I let the Mister Heuys ink run down the page..

I also found some felt pieces after just re organising my sewing space and I thought they would be perfect to add to this layout.. I forgot how much fun felt can be and think I will try and add some more to future layouts.

And finally the finished layout

So as you can see even by using the same paper line does not have to mean that you use the same colours for all your layouts..

I hope that I have helped you spark a little inspiration and perhaps you too can dust off the watercolours you have lying around ( or your child's) and have some fun ..

A weekend with " BoBunny" layout

Good Evening :)

Today I have had one of the BEST days where I feel super organised.. I managed to get a heap of jobs done at home, along with some spring cleaning!! Sheesh it feels good to off load a heap of "stuff' that I have just been hanging onto " just in case" I need it one day . ( I bet now in the next few days I will need something from that pile..lol)

So I wanted to pop back in and share a layout that I created for my BoBunny design team application.. This was a layout that I have had on my mind to make since I received the "Allora" collection in my lap. I LOVE the bright colours and the paper just screams fussy cut!!

But creating this layout did not come with out it's dramas let me assure you. I decided last minute to apply for the team ( mainly because I was doubting myself for a while) so when push came to shove I was in a crunch to get this layout creates. SOOOOOOO when this happened

You could just imagine the panic and expletives that followed in quick succession!! But after a quick meltdown I pulled myself together and convinced myself that this was a challenge that would make my page "better" .. I just didn't see it at the start!! So after letting the ink dry and dabbing the photo a million times ( as it was all over the photo) I had time to think about a game plan..

Rubons....

Yep .. rubons where going to be my saviour here.. so I started to madly create a back ground of randomly placing rubbons over the black ink..

Then it came down to fussy cutting like a mad woman and creating some "depth" to help de track from the area..ha ha .. In the end I was really happy with the end result.. and I guess BoBunny did to ;)

So in the end this was the layout..

And here are some close ups :)

So in the end .. after the panic and meltdown that I felt for a little bit, I was able to "save" the layout and make something good out of a not good situation..

Thanks so much for looking and I will be back to share the rest of my application layouts..

Much Love
