A weekend with " Dreamer Layout"

Helloooo...

Well I have been lucky enough to play with the brand new BoBunny Cafe Rose collection. Oh my word it is gorgeous !!!

I can not for the life of me put this collection away yet as all the blue and yellow pretties are calling my name, although for this layout I tried to pull in more of the gorgeous maroon that is also in the collection..

I have scrapped this photo before , but I just love it so - and when I saw the Rose Cafe Noteworthy piece that said  "dreamer" I knew I had to build the layout around it.

I used lots of scraps for layering and my new favourite Gold Glimmer spray from BoBunny.. That stuff is seriously the bomb diggity!!

I even managed to make a couple of flowers using the Couture Creations "Retro Flowers" die and decorated the tips of the petals with the Bobunny Glitter paste. .

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a fabulous weekend..

A weekend with " Happiness for BoBunny"

Helloooo..

Well I have been playing lots with the new Rose Cafe collection from BoBunny and am totally smitten with the colours in this collection!! I am not sure what it is about blue, yellow and white together but they just work so well together.. It just created this crisp and fresh look that I love and I found it really hard to choose which papers to work with.. so heck I added them all in lol..

I also had the chance to play with the new Stamp Stickers that was bought out with theis latest release!! They are such a fun and cute little addition!!

I really found it hard to choose which papers to use just for the background , and in the end I decided to just use most of them ..ha ha .. so I layered and then added gesso to take blend all the papers into one cohesive look..

I also grabbed out my buttercup Bobunny blossoms and added some gesso to the petals so that they too would blend a little better into the background.

As you can see below in the cluster I have used one of the new BoBunny Stamps that have just been released.. I just adore them as they are so cute !!

A weekend with " Hello - Couture Creations"

Helloooo..

Welcome to another Thursday, and my second turn at guest designing for Couture Creations. I just love the versatility of their dies and have had so much fun thinking up all the different ways that I could try and use the dies..  I shared this post over on their blog last Saturday and thought I would share it here with you all also..

When I first received the "Splendour" die from the Treasure Collection  I knew straight away that I wanted to create an Ombre card of some sort. It then occurred to me that I should try and use some of the felt that I have had here for some time here to use for various craft projects. I just love being able to find new ways to play.

Hello card by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations.

I managed to create the card above and then with the left of centre pieces of the die, I created a matching "flower " pen. Below I create a little tutorial showing you how easy and fast it is to create this!! What a perfect little gift to pass out with the card.

Firstly I gathered all the leftover centres from the Splendour die .

Hello card by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations.

Next it was time to actually create the flowers from the centres. I used a green thread , as this will later blend in with the leaves that will close of all the flowers. I made sure that the thread was long enough to use through the entire project.

As you can see from below, I folded the the flower in half, and then pinched in the outer edges and pinched them in towards the centre. I then sewed right through the centre as many times as I could until the flower shape stayed in place. Then without cutting the thread I shaped the next flower and started to also sew that together. In the end I had three flowers all strung together using the same length of thread.

Hello card by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations.

Then using some of the Couture Creations 2 way glue pen I dabbed the glue till it was runny on the felt flowers and quickly wrapped the pen inside of the felt flowers. I then pulled the thread tight and quickly sewed together the last flowers. This has to be done fast while the glue is still white, as this is the state it need to be in for it to act like a permanent adhesive.

Once that was dry I cut a simple green strip of green felt, fringed the felt and then sewed ot to the base of the flowers to cover up all my sewing.

Hello card by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations.

And there you have it.. It was so fast and easy to create and I am sure that that the same could be made from paper.
I then used the actual felt doily pieces to create the ruffled card. I ran strips of thick double sided adhesive tape to the card and created the ruffle as I went.

A weekend with " BoBunny Christmas Album"

Hellooo...

Welcome , welcome, welcome to another Friday!!

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to teach a class at my local Scrapbook store the Scrap N Patch. Being so close to Christmas I thought I would create a December Daily type album, but with the freedom that it could be used to just perhaps document Christmas day itself.

I used my go to BoBunny goodies From the Christmas Collage collection  and some of the new Couture Creations dies. I based this class on the Christmas Collage Collection chipboard album  ..

Christmas Album by Bernii Miller using the BoBunny Christmas Collage for Scrap N Patch .

For the class we also used the 6 x 8 Chalkboard binder to hold and add some more protection to the chipboard album inside. I just love how the chipboard albums fit perfectly inside the binders.

To decorate the outside I used a Couture Creations die ( Splendour from the Treasure Collections) with gold glitter litter paper. It created the prettiest gold doily that was perfect to layer upon for the front cover. I simply then adhered it with adhesive tape.

Through out the inside of my album I used BoBunny Glimmer sprays, stickable stencils and their new glitter paste. I also used smattering of some Terresa Collins stickers that worked really well alonside this collection.

Here is a peek at more pages from the album..

A weekend with " A moment in time- A Couture Creations class"

Helloooo and welcome to hump day :)

I have an itty bitty layout that I wanted to share with you that I made  a little over a week ago at the Scrap N Patch.. I took a class there from the talented Tracy Cooley who designs with Couture Creations.
I love taking class where I get to learn new techniques and in this class we all learnt to make the most adorable rose buds with a simple flower die..

A moment captured layout by Bernii Miller using the Couture Creations - Vintage Rose Collection.

The class layout was made with the new "Vintage Rose Collection" by Couture Creations and I must say that collection is growing on me!! All the pretty flowers and vines have me swooning..

A moment captured layout by Bernii Miller using the Couture Creations - Vintage Rose Collection.

Are these not the prettiest hand made flowers around :) I am so addicted to making them now and have a ton of ideas floating around my head!!

A moment captured layout by Bernii Miller using the Couture Creations - Vintage Rose Collection.

The layout had us making 7 of these cute flowers, but being the scrapper that I am I needed more then that ! ha ha .. So I went ahead and made a few more flowers and bows and added them to the layout. So I made more of my own .. I also went around all the flower petals and added some Glitter Glue to the edges for some extra sparkle.

I love this new technique that I learnt and I can not wait to put it to good use.. Now I will not ave any more dramas of not having the exact right colour flower. Now I can just make my own.. So awesome!!

Well thanks so much for stopping by

Till next time

A weekend with " BoBunny Glimmer Mist"

Helllooooo...

Well welcome to this hopefully relaxing Sunday morning...

The weather here has been crazy hot for this time of year, so I have really been enjoying retreating to my scrap room to get away from the heat..

Well today I'm sharing with you a Misc Me spread that I shared over on the BoBunny blog last week.. I had so much fun making this layout and have had this idea in my head for a while, so it was great to finally get it our on paper.

So let's take a looksy...

Love you Hucky Bear Misc Me layout by Bernii Miller using BoBunny Glimmer Mists.

My assignment for the week was to use Glimmer Mists .. so that is what I did ha ha ...

Love you Hucky Bear Misc Me layout by Bernii Miller using BoBunny Glimmer Mists.

I focused on using only 3 of the new glimmer mists Tutu, Frost and Mint. Those three colours in particular just hail to the new neon craze that is everywhere at the moment and it really inspired to me create this more grungier type spread. I also used the new stickable stencils on each card, and once they were dry I either splashed on contrasting glimmer spray or used my black fine tip pen top outline some of the shapes.

Love you Hucky Bear Misc Me layout by Bernii Miller using BoBunny Glimmer Mists.

I also wanted to re create the chalkboard look and achieved this by using some double dot cardstock and a white tip pen. I made sure that each little pocket has some of the black cardstock present by either using it to back my photos or to actually frame the cards.

Here are the close up pictures to both sides of my Misc Me spreads.

I just love how this spread worked out and love the versatility of the Glimmer Sprays and love trying to use them in different ways to stretch their use. I hope that you to will perhaps try out some stickable stencils and the super awesome glimmer sprays to help capture and record our special memories.

Thanks so much for stopping..

Till next time

A weekend with " Couture Creations Guest Designer"

Hellooooo...

Well today I have an exciting share for you :)

A little while ago I discovered and delved more into the world of metal dies. I have now been scrapbooking for 10 years and have NEVER owned a manual cutting machine or die ,up until about 3 months ago.. Sad but true.. lol.. I bought a portrait cutting machine about a year ago, but have only used it a handful of times as it is such a muck around for me to set it up and use!!

So when my dear friend li from the Scrap N Patch gave me her old cuttlebug ( bless her)  to play with I was totally hooked right away!! I LOVE the fact that I can create something in a matter of seconds and not half an hour like it was taking me on the portrait.

So long story short , I have been having a blast creating with my cuttlebug and lots of my new Couture Creations dies and embossing folders.. I have been busy posting these on my Instagram feed and had the lovely Kerri from Couture Creations contact me and ask if I would be interested in doing a guest post.. Sooo here I am today sharing with you my first guest post for Couture Creations using some of their new dies, embossing folders and their brand new paper range "Vintage Rose Garden" .

A Moment in time layout by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations using the new Vintage Garden Collection.

This layout was really so fun to create and I knew right away that I wanted to scrap this photo of Abby and myself.. it is one of those photos that makes me smile everytime I look at it so I wanted to create something a little extra with it , as I want to display it in the family rook for all to see.

I based my layout on using the Splendour die from the Treasures collection and knew right away that I wanted to create a ruffle look. So once I cut the die , I snipped a cut through it and folded the paper till I achieved the "rufflieness" that I was after.

A Moment in time layout by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations using the new Vintage Garden Collection.

From there I built my page. I used water colour and the new BoBunny stickable stencils to create the background look. I then used the "Big Rose Aline" paper mainly to fussy cut out the sweet flower clusters. Then to add some extra sparkle I roughly traced over the flowers with some Glitzin' Glamour in Crystalina ... I LOVE that glitter glue!!

A Moment in time layout by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations using the new Vintage Garden Collection.

The "Roses & Butterflies" paper also caught my eye and I fussy cut the little butterflies to add to the layout.. I then added more dimension to the flowers by propping under some older making memories paper flowers. I simply folded them in half and then wedged them under the fussy cut flowers.

A Moment in time layout by Bernii Miller for Couture Creations using the new Vintage Garden Collection.

Of course I scattered lots of Ivy and Aurora Vine dies through the flower clusters. Once I cut out the vines though , I used the Asian Wave embossing folder over the top to help add some contrast and dimension.

Well I had a total blast playing around with all the pretty dies , paper and embossing folders from Couture Creations .

I hope I have been able to inspire you to play with some Couture  Creations and I have listed below the goodies that I used.. Please if you have any questions leave them in the comments and I will be sure to respond..

A weekend with " Masters Pilot Pen Challenge"

Helllooooo

I am back with you to share another of my Scrapbooking Memories Magazine challenges from the last issue. This one was a Pilot Pen challenge and I will admit right here and right now that I was really really stumped as to how I was going to incorporate this product into this assignment.
The team and I were then asked by Vanessa the editor of the magazine if we would all create a journal for specific women out west that are going through the Breast Cancer battle. I was really inspired by this and wanted to create something soft and feminine for her to record her thoughts through both the good and the bad times that lay ahead her.

I started with some basic journals that I grabbed from the typo store and used some Magie Holmes, Heidi Swapp , BoBunny and Prima to create the cover.

I then asked a really god friend of mine ( who is a fabulous sewer) if she would mind creating a pouch to hold both the pens and the journals.. And this is what she came up with for me !! How AWESOME ♥ This is a direct link to her facebook page where she sells her awesome wares..

The pouch holds everything that she needs and more. Her journal, a journal each for her little boys, and a pouch to hold her Pilot Pens on their very own.

The fabric that  was chosen by Steph matched perfectly with the journal that I created..

When I recieved the email from Vanessa with brief information about the recipient I also knew that she had two very young boys. Now I know they will not journal in here as such, but I hope that they might draw their mother some awesome pictures to make her smile, or to even keep them busy when their mother is in the hospital..

I used some Echo Park paper that I picked up from my local scrapbooking store  to create the boys journals and the papers were just perfect!!

Well I wish Sheree and her family all the sincerest best wishes for their future and hope with all my heart that she will beat this and come out on top!!

Thanks so much for stopping by..

Till next time

Much love
