A few weeks ago one of my childhood girlfriends had her Hens Night in preparation for her upcoming nuptials. It was such a fun night of hanging out and catching up with my group of girlfriends for whom I have known for more than 20 years!!! yikes.. It wasn't a crazy night but a really fun one instead and I wanted to record the night for my friend as a keepsake for her to cherish! So I decided to create a mini album of the eveing and gift it to her on her wedding night...
I decided to use the "Favourite Things" collection by Heidi Swapp as I just adore the bright colours and all the fun embellishments that were released alongside it, especially the glitter embellies . They were a perfect match for the Hens Night photos that I managed to either take myself or grab off other friends Facebook pages.. (For once it has a use lol)
Now this is a super heavy photo post, so go and grab a cuppa and take a look about :)
I decided to keep the cover raw and just used the 6 x6 paper pad and the Project Life cards throughout the album. I also went along to the $2 store and picked up the "Bride to Be" badge to add as a fun element to the album cover.
Now this next ephemera pocket page was so fun to make. At the hens night we all received a little goody bag with a card attached to explain the contents. So I grabbed a Project Life Insert sleeve and poured in all the contents. I then made sure that I sewed through the top of a couple of the contents to make sure it would all stay in place and not just slide and bunch up in one area. Super easy to do and a really fun keepsake.
This is a how the contents look from the back.
I also managed to add in a Photo Flip book to the album, buy adhering it directly to the outside of the plastic sleeve. It makes a great extra interactive element to the album.
And a little peek inside the flip book .
I also used a few pieces from the Clear Project Life mini kit and instead of inserting them into the plastic sleeves, I simply punched some holes and added it to he album. It instantly created an extra fun page element.
I could not go past making a little sequin / glitter pocket for the album. I also threw in their some off the odds and ends from the emphera paak that I knew I would not be able to use inside of the album.
I also added in a memory file from the same collection, although I had to alter it in length. So I cut of the middle spine to make it fit in the album, and then simply sewed on a new black and white spine. I love how the album is changing surfaces and is keeping it interesting.
I also sprinkled through some glitter bows that I made with my maggie Holmes bow die. I love those little things.
Here is another example of how I added in a clear card from the mini Project Life kit, although this time I did add it into the plastic sleeve.
While I was at the hens night I tucked in my journaling pen and some Project Life journal cards and asked each girl from the night to write a little note to the bride to be. These were just tucked into the back with out any embelishing at all..
I just love how this album pulled together so easily and I know that using all the same collection really helped in that process. I just love any of Heidi Swapp's products and my growing stash can attest to that ha ha ..
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like my take on using this mini album...
Till next time
Much love
Bernii xx
