Well today I have an exciting share for you :)
A little while ago I discovered and delved more into the world of metal dies. I have now been scrapbooking for 10 years and have NEVER owned a manual cutting machine or die ,up until about 3 months ago.. Sad but true.. lol.. I bought a portrait cutting machine about a year ago, but have only used it a handful of times as it is such a muck around for me to set it up and use!!
So when my dear friend li from the Scrap N Patch gave me her old cuttlebug ( bless her) to play with I was totally hooked right away!! I LOVE the fact that I can create something in a matter of seconds and not half an hour like it was taking me on the portrait.
So long story short , I have been having a blast creating with my cuttlebug and lots of my new Couture Creations dies and embossing folders.. I have been busy posting these on my Instagram feed and had the lovely Kerri from Couture Creations contact me and ask if I would be interested in doing a guest post.. Sooo here I am today sharing with you my first guest post for Couture Creations using some of their new dies, embossing folders and their brand new paper range "Vintage Rose Garden" .
This layout was really so fun to create and I knew right away that I wanted to scrap this photo of Abby and myself.. it is one of those photos that makes me smile everytime I look at it so I wanted to create something a little extra with it , as I want to display it in the family rook for all to see.
I based my layout on using the Splendour die from the Treasures collection and knew right away that I wanted to create a ruffle look. So once I cut the die , I snipped a cut through it and folded the paper till I achieved the "rufflieness" that I was after.
From there I built my page. I used water colour and the new BoBunny stickable stencils to create the background look. I then used the "Big Rose Aline" paper mainly to fussy cut out the sweet flower clusters. Then to add some extra sparkle I roughly traced over the flowers with some Glitzin' Glamour in Crystalina ... I LOVE that glitter glue!!
The "Roses & Butterflies" paper also caught my eye and I fussy cut the little butterflies to add to the layout.. I then added more dimension to the flowers by propping under some older making memories paper flowers. I simply folded them in half and then wedged them under the fussy cut flowers.
Of course I scattered lots of Ivy and Aurora Vine dies through the flower clusters. Once I cut out the vines though , I used the Asian Wave embossing folder over the top to help add some contrast and dimension.
Well I had a total blast playing around with all the pretty dies , paper and embossing folders from Couture Creations .
I hope I have been able to inspire you to play with some Couture Creations and I have listed below the goodies that I used.. Please if you have any questions leave them in the comments and I will be sure to respond..
Thanks so much for stopping by
Much love
Till next time
Bernii xx
